Explore the three amazing Abbey Caves - Organ Cave,
Middle Cave and Ivy Cave. It’s just a short walk from your
room. You will need a torch, a good pair of shoes and a bit
of common sense. See thousands of glow worms, underground
waterfalls, stalagmite and stalactites. We have all the gear
you need for safe exploration of caves including head
torches, caving helmets and a map of the caves.

Walk around Abbey Caves Reserve- see the incredible rock
formations which are over 30 million years old.

4 minutes drive from here. See the ancient Kauri trees.
These
500-year-old specimens are easily accessed off Whareora Road.
Taheke
Waterfall
and scenic reserve. On the Whareora Road 10 minutes drive
from here heading toward Pataua North. Whangarei Falls
the most
photogenic waterfall in New Zealand.

Scuba Diving – at the Poor
Knights Tutukaka. The Poor Knights
Islands were named by Jacques Cousteau as one of the world's
top 10 dive locations.
Spectacular water clarity and warm sub-tropical currents
provide a rich, varied and abundant sea life. Dive trips
depart Tutukaka daily. Or if you’d prefer a wreck dive check
out the sunken ex-frigates "Tui" and "Waikato" located just
offshore from Tutukaka.

Heritage Park.
Set on a sub tropical 25 hectare park including a nocturnal
Kiwi house, 1886 kauri homestead and native bird recovery

Kauri Coast

Located on the west coast, this beautiful area embraces lush
native rainforest, including New Zealand's tallest tree - the
massive native kauri, Tane Mahuta.
The Bay of Islands
is an aquatic playground with 144 islands and a myriad of
secluded beaches. Visit Waitangi National Reserve, where the
Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840 Look around in Russell. Go
swimming with dolphins, sailing, big game fishing and kayaking.
Take the ‘Hole in the Rock’ cruise to the tip of Cape Brett.
